5 Things a Working Mom Should Never Say to a Non-Working Mom

I was introduced to this incredibly powerful video at a conference and I just have to share it with you. The video comes at such an important point in our culture. While many people are supporting women who work and applauding their growing roles in so many industries, women are guilty of hating on and judging each other for not working. It’s the battle of the moms.

The Mother ‘Hood Official Video, sponsored by Similac, is a must-watch for all parents. For some reason, the video’s description is easier said than done for many. “Don’t they know that everyone has their own way of parenting? But when it comes down to it, we’re all on the same side.” So. True.

With that in mind, here are five things you should never, ever say to a non-working mom.

1. You have time, right? 2. You’re lucky, you get to sleep in. 3. Begin any sentence with “Since you don’t work…” 4. So, what do you do all day? 5. Does your husband give you an allowance?

What’s the point? We need to stop judging one another and start realizing that whether she’s a mom who works or not, every mom’s goal is the same: to take care of her family and be the best she can possibly be.
